Mila's Tips for Starting the (VIRTUAL) Semester off Strong

Spring semester is here, and I've spent a lot of time figuring out how to adjust to a new schedule. The beginning of a new term is always a bit stressful, so I've gathered a few of my best tips to help you start the season off strong!

Have a game plan

This can look anything like writing your goals down for the semester or setting up deadlines for yourself. Be sure to make a note of everything you want to accomplish so that you can celebrate the little wins on the way.

Find your favorite way to stay organized.

Use a planner or an online app (Notion is the MVP) to help you keep track of your classes, assignments, deadlines, and responsibilities. I usually create folders for all my classes and include the syllabus, class schedule, assignment deadlines for the semester, and a reading list to keep track of all my required reading materials for the week. I also have a weekly calendar that I update every Sunday night where I note any meetings, classes, big events, and deadlines that I need to remember for the following week. I also create notebooks on GoodNotes for each class so that I can take notes properly!

Schedule in some self-care time

No matter how busy you are, you always have time to take care of yourself. Whether it means waking up early to do some yoga or literally just winding down with a good old fashioned twitter scroll, remind yourself that it's OK and NECESSARY to make time to be "no thoughts, head empty."
