Destination Daydreaming

I've been spending my Sundays dreaming about all the places I'd rather be than my couch. With that comes endless scrolling through photos of my past trips. Here is a compiled list of my top five daydream destinations I've traveled to, along with my recommendations for your next trip <3

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Why you need to go

The history, the sunsets, and the sea.

What you need to see

One of the most popular activities in Dubrovnik is a walk around the Old Town City Walls for a beautiful view of the Adriatic Sea and a history lesson all in one.

Where to have a drink

Head to Beach Bar Dodo, a hidden gem tucked away in the Dubrovnik walls. It is secluded, quiet, with delicious drinks, and overlooking a beautiful tiny beach if you feel like going for a dip after.

Algarve, Portugal

Why you need to go

The surf, the food, the caves.

What you need to see

This stop was part of our road trip along the coast of Portugal, which was by far my favorite. Exploring the beautiful caves of Algarve is a must-see during your visit. I can still picture the perfectly landscaped cliffs reaching out to the beautiful blue ocean.

Iceland (all of it)

Why you need to go

The culture, the views, and feelings of escaping to a different planet for a lil.

What you need to see

The breathtaking waterfalls and if you're lucky: the northern lights.

Where you need to sleep

Less than an hour's drive from the hustle and bustle of Reykjavík and set against majestic mountainous lava fields, ION Adventure Hotel is an unforgettable experience. This was the perfect getaway, and I will never forget the beautiful sights that I got to see while staying here.

Capri, Italy

Why you need to go

For the Limoncello, the sunbathing, and the food <3

Where to eat

Le Grottelle! The food and view are 10000% worth the walk.

Where you need to sleep

Located at the heart of the Mediterranean, the Capri Palace is a stunning location where modern art meets Capri's breathtaking natural beauty.

Maui, Hawaii

Why you need to go

The nature, the culture, and the adventure.

What you need to see

Wake up at 2 am and begin your drive to Haleakala (meaning "House of the Sun" in Hawaiian), a dormant shield volcano with one of the world's largest volcanic craters. We arrived just before sunrise and climbed up to the very top (10,023′ to be exact) to watch the sunrise over the clouds. I've never felt more in tune with the earth or grateful to experience something so beautiful.

Where to jump

Fun fact, I have a love for cliff jumping, so Maui was definitely one for the books. Black Rock, Ka’anapali is a prominent rocky peninsula best known for snorkeling and cliff jumping. Stick around after your dive to watch the daily sunset torch lighting ceremony.

Love always,

Melania Zilo
